JAMMU, Feb 22: The month -long spiritual activities of holy month of Magh culminated at various ashrams today with solemnization of Havans.
The month long activity of the holy month of Magh culminated at Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram Udaiwala Bohri. The Magh Purnima is also known as Kaw Purnanmashi. The activity was held from 4-30 am to 7-30 am daily. Hundreds of devotees thronged the Ashram daily in the morning during the auspicious month of magh to receive the ever flowing grace of Bhagawaanji.
It is pertinent to mention that prior to migration, the Kashmiri Pandit community would circumambulate the Hari Parbhat hillock-the abode of Mata Chakreshwari during the month of Magh Massa and they now throng the Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram with the same reverence and pay obeisance at the feet of the master.
During this month about one and a half crore Vedic mantras were recited for the welfare of mankind. Besides, Shlokas from Mahimnapaar, Guru Geeta, Panchastavi, Maga Malla, Bhagvadgita were recited and homa was also conducted daily uphold the cultural heritage.
Such programmes and activities were held by Bhagawaan Gopinathji Ashram, Sat Mandals across the country on regular basis.
Another function was held at Swami Kumar Ji Geeta Satsang Ashram Muthi.
A Maha Yagya was also performed on the occasion of Magh Purnima in which a large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu participated.
Swami Kumar Ji while delivering the religious discourses threw light on the religious and social significance of Kaw Purnima for Kashmiri Pandits. He gave the historical and social background of this festival.
Swami Ji appealed the community to remain united at this crucial juncture.
The function among others was attended by Kundan Kashmiri , president KPC, Dr T K Bhat general secretary ASKPC, R K Raina president Amar Balidan Trust, R K Bhat, Rahul Bhat, N N Koul and others. The devotees were also served Prasad after Puranahuti.
Another function was held at Shiv Mandir Anuradha Puram Sector 2 on the occasion of Kaw Purnima. A Maha Yagya was also solemnized which started yesterday evening and culminated with Puranahuti this afternoon.
