Srinagar, Feb 23: In its endeavor to reach the weaker sections of the society, a team of Police Wives Welfare Association (PWWA) visited an orphanage in Chanapora area of city here and donated utility items.
A police spokesman said that the team headed by Pallavi Gillani visited Muhammadia Yateem Trust in the forenoon and spent time with orphans and distributed sweets and other eatable items among them. The team donated a water purifier and a good capacity pressure cooker to the orphanage, he said.
“Pallavi Gillani had a meeting with the management of the trust and assured that PWWA will provide more items of utility including stationery in near future for the students putting up there,” the spokesman said.
On this occasion, the chairman Aijaz Ahmad Dar thanked and appreciated the efforts of the PWWA and hoped that the association will continue to provide assistance in future also, the police spokesman added.
