Of Students and politics

Sir,
The first and foremost function of the students is to devote themselves to educational matters and not waste their time on politics. Those who make politicians of themselves fail to get education for which their parents have sent them to educational institutions at great personal sacrifice.
Politics is the negation of all educational values. Our teachers teach us honesty, fair play and patriotism etc. Politics on the contrary teaches us dishonesty, backbiting and selfishness.
We must do everything to keep the college and university atmosphere pure and sacred which is necessary for proper development of the youth.
It is very surprising and unfortunate that Indian politics has reached such a state where politics has become a very dirty game. Political parties are regularly changing colours and fearlessly compromising with their age old politics, even using college and university students to carry forward their party agendas and not hesitating to ignore national interests.
It would be correct to mention here that the student community should not be allowed to enter into politics. We have often seen that when students get involved in politics, things go from bad to worse.
Yours etc….
