JAMMU, Feb 24: As Haryana is heading towards normalcy after the Jat Community called-off its stir for reservation quota, the inter-State train services from Jammu and base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi at Katra have been resumed partially.
Official sources told the EXCELSIOR that over 10 trains left to their respective destinations from Jammu and Katra Railway Stations via Haryana route after the Jat Community called off their stir.
“Three trains from Katra and over seven from Jammu Tawi Railway Station left for the National Capital and other parts of the country”, sources said, adding that no special trains were run today with the partial resumption of normal service.
The trains, which left from Katra Railway Station includes Sampark Kranti, Shiv Shakti and Jammu Mail, while the trains, which left from Jammu Railway Station includes Rajdhani, Tata Moori, Pooja Express, Begumpura, Dhurnto, Kanpur, Archana, etc.
The trains–Sawraj, Malwa, Jhelum, Shalimar and Jabalpur were cancelled today, sources said, adding that hopefully the full-fledged inter-State rail services are likely to be resumed from tomorrow.
When contacted Divisional Traffic Manager (DTM), Northern Railway, Sudhir Kumar Singh said that inter-State rail services have been partially resumed as today over 10 trains left for National Capital and other parts of the country from Jammu and Katra Railway Stations via Haryana route.
He added that five trains have been cancelled today because at some places, the rail tracks were damaged by the protesting Jat community people in Haryana and are not fit to run the trains.
The full-fledged rail services are likely to be resumed tomorrow, he said, adding that maximum rush of passengers from Jammu and Katra has been cleared during the past three days in ‘Special Trains’.
However, the sleeper buses to New Delhi from Jammu and Katra via Haryana have also started plying fully.
