Omar was scheduled to inaugurate three projects and lay foundation stone for others including a Primary Health Centre, which would have a centrally heated labour room during his visit to extreme LoC area.

He said it was raining heavily in Machail like other parts of Kashmir Valley for the past four to five days. “Despite that all arrangements have been made for the first ever Cabinet meeting at village Machail, located right on the LoC”, he added.
Prior to Machail, the State Cabinet had earlier met at the LoC in Tangdhar sector, also in Kupwara district. The Cabinet meeting at Tangdhar was successful and had resulted into start of several development projects in the area.

Omar would also inaugurate two other major projects at the forward village including Machail Rest House and a bridge connecting village Peshawari with Machail.
In view of problems faced by the Government employees in staying at Machail during their posting in remote area of the LoC, the Chief Minister would lay foundation stone for a Residential Complex for the employees.
The Chief Minister would also inaugurate Primary Health Centre at Machail, which would have centrally heating arrangements in the labour room in view of extreme cold in the area during winters. The doctors were also being posted in the PHC under National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), sources said.
In addition to taking up normal agenda, the Cabinet meeting would also review working of all Departments pertaining to Machail sector. After Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister would also take review meeting of all district officers of Kupwara.
The entire Cabinet comprising 17 Ministers including the Chief Minister was expected to stay for nearly five to six hours at Machail before returning to Srinagar, the summer capital of the State, in the evening.
Sources said the district administration of Kupwara was working for last two months for holding Cabinet meeting at Machail. “Now all arrangements have been completed for the meeting. Though it was raining heavily, the administration was fully confident of success of the meeting”, they added.
The local people were confident that development activities in their remote and forward village of Machail at the LoC would get a boost after the Cabinet meeting just like Tangdhar, which got degree college, hospital and other projects after the Cabinet meeting.
Security arrangements have also been made for the Cabinet as it was taking place at the LoC, sources said.
