JAMMU, Feb 25: Several senior members from Employees Joint Action Committee (K), Civil Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Association and other groups appealed leaders of various employees unions and associations to come on single platform.
The decision with regard to forging unity among the employees was taken in a convention organised by EJAC-K here today. State president of the body Mushtaq Ahmed Khan and senior JCC leader presided over while Ghulam Rasool Mir, president Civil Sectt Non-Gazetted Employees Association was the special invitee.
Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, in his address called upon all the trade unionists to come forward and forge unity among the employees. He said that setting aside all ego all should come forward on single platform for the over all welfare of the employees.
Provincial president of the EJAC-K, Balwinder Singh, Dharminder Singh general secretary, Ravi Singh Bhau- senior vice president, Dev Anand Gill State vice president Shahid Hussain, Nazir Ahmed Bhat, Ravinder Singh, Subash Chander and others in their addressed projected the burning issues of the employees and criticized the Government for causing delay in addressing their issues. They all issued appeal to all the employees’ bodies/ unions to shun ego and come out on single platform of JCC for achieving their common goal. They demanded removal of pay anomalies, release of 6 % DA, regularization of all daily rated/ contractual, casual workers, enhancement of medical allowance to Rs 2000 per month, provision of budgetary support to PSUs etc.
Ghulam Rasool Mir, president CSNGEA appreciated the initiative taken by the EJAC and appealed the trade union leaders to come under one umbrella platform of JCC for waging their collective struggle for the welfare of the employees of the State. He also appealed the Governor N N Vohra to constitute a committee for implementation of 7th Pay Commission in the State.
