JAMMU, Feb 26: MLA Vijaypur, Chander Prakash Ganga today inaugurated the Niabat building of Barjani, tehsil Bari Brahmana, which has been constructed by Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj.
The said project has been completed at an estimated cost of Rs 19 lakhs and has been a long pending demand of people of this area. The building was formally handed over to Tehsildar Bari Brahmana Farooq Nazki for further use.
The welcome address was presented by BDO Bari Brahmana Aijaz Qaiser, who briefed the MLA about various developmental activities taken up in the year 2015-16 under various Central and State sponsored schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA stressed for quality management and directed the administration to encourage mohalla committees to ensure use of standard material in the lanes and drains. He stressed on people participation as the key to quality check. He also directed the department to ensure convergence of MGNREGA with other schemes so that maximum benefit reaches to the most desired level.
The MLA, while inspecting the community sanitary complex Barjani and IHHL units, constructed under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, termed it as the dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He directed the department to complete it in a mission mode and make this Panchayat a model Panchayat for others to follow.
The MLA also listened to the public grievances regarding various issues and directed the field officers accompanying him to sort out issues accordingly.
The MLA, during his tour, also met various deputations enroute and ensured them that their genuine demands will be considered soon. Also present in the meetings were ACD Samba Tilak Raj Thapa, SDM Vijaypur Rajneesh Gupta, DPO Samba Deepak Dubey, BDO Bari Brahmana, Aijaz Qaiser, Tehsildar Bari Brahman, Farooq Nazki and other officers and staff of line departments
