JAMMU, Feb 26: The concluding function of the intensive awareness campaign of Union Health Ministry on the theme, Mother-Child Health & Mission Indradhanush launched by the Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in 6 identified high priority districts of Jammu & Kashmir State from August 2015 to December 2015 was held here today.
The function was presided over by N Gulshan Raina, Programme Head, DFP, J&K Region, whereas Bharti Vaid, Additional Director General, Press Information Bureau, Government of India, J&K was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr Baldev Sharma, Director, Family Welfare, Jammu & Kashmir was the guest of honour whereas Dr Mohd Shafi, State Nodal Officer, National Health Mission J&K chapter was special guest on the occasion.
The valedictory function was a part of public awareness campaign launched by Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, where mother and infant motility rate is higher and immunization rate against seven preventable killer diseases is below 50%. During the awareness campaign throughout the State DFP has to organize 2340 grand awareness programmes for the mobilization and sensitization of the masses especially at the grass root level.
While interacting with the officers Bharti Vaid underlined the importance of such mega awareness campaigns and appreciated the role of the Directorate of Field Publicity. She also lauded the importance of feedback reports which is an essential and important component of Directorate. She said during the said intensive awareness campaign in six districts of J&K including Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban and Leh, all the field publicity units of DFP worked hard in coordinated manners and organized 23 awareness programmes by covering each block and tehsil.
Mr Raina presented a comprehensive report at the function and also presented vote of thanks. The function culminated with Prize distribution ceremony in which all the field officers/officials of DFP J&K region were honoured with mementoes by galaxy of officers.
