UDHAMPUR, Feb 27: Kud Police today seized 2.5 kg poppy straw, which was being smuggled to Jammu from Kashmir, in a truck. Police has also seized the truck and arrested its driver.
Acting on specific information, Police party intercepted the truck JK02AB-2167 and during thorough search of it, 2.5 kg poppy straw was recovered. The accused driver, namely Raj Pal of Battal Balian Udhampur, was arrested on the spot and vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case under section 815 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kud.
