Protesters block Jammu-Poonch Highway

MENDHAR, Feb 27: Protestors today blocked Jammu-Poonch Highway at Jaranwali Gali for hours forcing MLA Mendhar to intervene and pacify them.
People were protesting at Jaranwali Gali which is a part of Mendhar Constituency for failure of water supply schemes in their areas.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Mendhar Javed Rana asked the concerned authorities to provide him the details of the schemes that are already in running and clear the mess in coming two days.
Rana said that failure of previous Government is costing the people of this State very much. They even failed to provide basic necessities to the people of the State, forcing them to come on the roads to protest.
He asked AEE PHE Mendhar and AEE PHE Surankote to provide him the details of the amount spent on the running schemes in different areas of Mendhar.
Rana said that Forest Department is also creating hurdles in ongoing developmental activities and he asked the department to cooperate with local authorities in completion of some major roads in Mendhar Constituency.
Protestors later called off the protest when MLA assured them that there grievances would be addressed in the next few days.
