Girl students return from 12-day tour

Srinagar, Feb 27: A group of 16 girls hailing from remote Tanghdhar area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district today returned from 12 day long Capacity Building Tour organized by army.
A defence spokesman said that during the tour, these students visited the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Dargha of Khwaja Moiuniddin Chisti at Fatepur Sikri, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, and Kingdom of Dreams.
“The girls also got a glimpse of educational marvels of India and were shown National Science Museum, Delhi, Nehru Planetarium, Army Public School Dhaula Kuan as well as Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls School, Jaipur. The students’ interaction at various schools epitomized the true spirit of young India. The children also interacted with Dr Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India, who welcomed them warmly and wished them a bright future,” he said.
On reaching back, the children expressed their absolute joy at this experience which they said inspired them to make a meaningful contribution towards Nation building, the defence spokesman added.
