JAMMU, Feb 27:Accusing the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) of fleecing its subscribers by providing poorest service to them as compared to other service providers, JHCC has appealed Union Telecom Minister, Ravi Prasad, to intervene and pull up the concerned officials for dereliction of their duties.
“We feel cheated, a public undertaking pickpockets our money by charging us in full and providing its services half heartedly and causing great inconvenience to its subscribers”, said Vivek Sharma, a spokesman of JHCC.
“A huge administrative hierarchy occupying cozy spaces in posh complexes at Bahu Plaza, hardly venture out to see the woes of the people who unfortunately had subscribed to BSNL as a telecom service provider”, the spokesman said adding “BSNL landline, broadband and mobiles are proving to be a liability for its subscribers”.
Sharma said a subscriber of Bantalab Exchange was reportedly put to a great inconvenience as his broadband and landline has not been attended to by the concerned officials for past nearly three weeks despite repeated complaints lodged with 198.
“Similar complaints were reported from Capital City’s commercial hub like Rughnath Bazar, Rajinder Bazaar, Hari Market and Residency Road areas where hundreds of subscribers were faced with faulty services offered by the state owned service provider”, Sharma charged.
BSNL which claims owning a largest telecom network across country, of late, has shown decline in its services and customer care when compared with its business competitors thus allowing them grow at a faster pace, he added.
“BSNL like Indian Airlines, another public sector undertaking, still continues to be suffering from a hangover of monopolized era of yore”, added Sharma.
