JAMMU, Feb 27: Unbelievable it may sound but it is a fact that new Legislature Complex coming up near Civil Secretariat doesn’t have the permission of Jammu Municipal Corporation under the J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988.
Now, taking notice of this, the Jammu Municipal Corporation on the directions of Commissioner, Mandeep Kaur has issued notices to Managing Director of Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) for constructing a building comprising of six floors without formal permission.
“It is mandatory under Section 4 of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988 to seek permission from the JMC for construction of buildings within its territorial limits”, reads the notice, adding “no building permission has been sought by JKPCC for constructing the building and the completion and finishing work is in progress unauthorizedly”.
“The illegal construction seriously effects the planned development of Jammu city and contravenes the zoning regulations”, the JMC said.
