NEW DELHI, Feb 28: Expanding its presence in the Gulf market, private carrier Jet Airways today announced that it will launch a flight service to Muscat from here next month.
The Mumbai-based airline currently operates three-daily flights, one each from Mumbai, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, to the Oman capital.
The addition of the new flight, scheduled to be launched on March 21, from Jet Airways strategic hub in Delhi will further strengthen the airline’s growing international network and enhance flight connectivity from northern India, SAARC and ASEAN to the Gulf region, the airline said in a release.
“It is indeed a proud moment for us at Jet Airways to launch our maiden international flight between Delhi and Muscat. This is a significant milestone for enhancing the strong ties between India and the Sultanate of Oman,” Jet Airways senior vice president (commercial) Gaurang Shetty said.
Four daily flights to Muscat from as many Indian cities would provide greater connectivity to this one of the most attractive destinations in the Gulf, the airline said.
Jet Airways will operate its new service with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering business and economy class travel, the release said. (PTI)
