Investors in mall protest again for execution of sale deed

JAMMU, Feb 28: Demanding execution of sale deed in their favour, the aggrieved investors in an under-construction mall at Akhnoor Road, once again held a protest demonstration.
Shouting slogans against the landowner and demanding execution of sale deed, the agitating  investors also tried to block the road but Police foiled their attempt even as a   peaceful protest continued for more than two hours inside the mall premises.
Besides Police, officials of the Crime Branch had also reached the spot and tried to mediate between  aggrieved investors and the  landowner, who had sent his kin and an employee to explain his stand on the issue.
According to Police,  the agitating investors and the landowner have agreed to meet on Tuesday morning for sorting out the issue between them following intervention of the Crime Branch.
It may be mentioned here that in the  said under construction mall  at  Akhnoor road,  around 200 people have invested for purchasing shops there. This mall is being developed by a reputed real estate company from Rajasthan in collaboration with local JV partner, who is owner of the land as Article 370 of the Indian Constitution does now allow a non-State subject to purchase land in J&K.  As per the agreement, the local JV partner will provide the land and the company would develop the mall.
However, even after the mall is near completion, the landowner is allegedly not signing  the sale agreements with  the investors.
Last week also, the aggrieved investors had  a strong protest against the landowner.
