JAMMU, Feb 29: A delegation led by Sheikh Imran, chairman and Rahul Sahai, vice chairman, CII J&K State Council called on Khurshid Ahmad Ganai, Advisor to the Governor N N Vohra today at his office to update him about the CII J&K State Council’s efforts to make the J&K most preferred investment destination besides discussing other issues.
During the discussions, Mr Imran also mentioned about the Semiconductor Fab Mega Project and Chander Parkash Gupta, former chairman CII J&K State Council briefly shared the potential of the project and informed that the if the project commences, it will create over 50,000 jobs in the State, make India a leading global independent semiconductor products provider and also add 1% increase in the GDP.
Mr Ganai showed his interest to understand the project and said that if the project has that kind of a potential, it could be great beneficial for the State. He further proposed the same for discussion with the Governor at the earlier.
Mr Imran proposed Kashmir Fruit Show in line with CII Agro Tech – a premier bi-annual agro technology fair which shares participation from many agrarian countries across globe. He further informed that the Agro Tech this year will be held from November 19 to 22, 2016 at Chandigarh.
He said that Horticulture Department has been participating in the fair in the past and urged Mr Ganai to consider Government’s participation at the expo.
Mr Imran and Mr Sahai also proposed for facilities both at Srinagar & Jammu to hold Flower Show at Amsterdam to boost the floriculture and also tourism in the State. CII J&K will be submitting a separate representation to the government on this.
