PNB opens registration of pilgrims for Amarnath Yatra

JAMMU, Mar 1: Punjab National Bank (PNB) opened the registration of Yatris for Shri Amarnathji Yatra in 305 designated branch offices of bank at Pan India level.
The registration process was inaugurated by BS Raina, Deputy General Manager, PNB Circle Office Jammu at its Rehari Chowk branch.
Speaking on the occasion, Raina said that PNB is committed to serve the society through its vast branch expansion and would like to reach the masses through this registration process. He informed the gathering that the bank had participated in the registration process in 2013 as one of the five participating banks and since 2014 the bank is conducting registration in over 305 branches across India out of total of 432 branches allotted to three banks by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board.
Raina said that as per direction of Shrine Board, the Yatra shall commence on July 2 and will conclude on August 18. He further added that from Baltal as well as from Pahalgam 115435 each yatra permits will be issued to the yatris from these branches across India.
He further informed that the bank is participating in the registration process as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and does not have any commercial interest.
Raina said that the bank with its commitment to serve the society had registered more than 100 NRIs last year for the Yatra and this year too has offered its services for registration of NRI Yatris.
He said that to register for Shri Amarnathji Yatra, an ex-India pilgrim shall need to send scanned copies of the Yatra documents at the email address cojksec@pnb.co.in and the bank shall thereafter complete the registration process and hand over the Yatra permits to the intending Yatris at Jammu/Srinagar as per their requirement.
Rajendra Singh, Chief Manager, PNB Branch Office Rehari, Rakesh Kumar, Manager Security and a large number of yatris were present on the occasion.
