KATHUA, Mar 1: Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) organized an Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP) under National Minorities Development Finance Corpo-ration (NMDFC) at Billawar today.
MLA Billawar, Nirmal Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.
More than 250 educated unemployed youth of block Billawar participated in the awareness programme to take advantage of various central and state sponsored schemes which would help them to establish an employment generating ventures in different sectors of economy.
Speaking on the occasion, Nirmal Singh encouraged the youth to take benefit of various schemes launched by JKEDI and said that our country have good pool of youth and energy of the youth should be channelized properly to reap maximum benefit. He further said that JKEDI should organize these camps more frequently so that maximum youth can take benefit of these programs.
District Nodal Officer JKEDI, Aamir Shafiq in his address informed that 60 educated unemployed youth from block Billawar under ‘Himayat ‘ scheme of central Govt. were given training and financial assistance under NMDFC to make them self dependent.
The distribution of handicap certificate to the differently abled persons was arranged at tehsils headquarters for the ease of the public. Instructions were passed to the BMO and CMO Kathua to arrange these camps after regular interval of 2 months.
During the public meeting financial assistance to the tune of Rs 23.4 lakh under Integrated Housing and Slum Development Program (IHSDP) was provided to 78 persons of Billawar to give them an opportunity to build their homes. Similarly, a camp was organized by Revenue department at village Tila to provide income certificate to villagers at their doorsteps.
SDM Billawar, R S Charak , Tehsildar Billawar(UT) Rahul Yadav, Chief Program Officer JKEDI, Dr Majid Manzoor Khan, Principal of Govt. Degree College Billawar and Principal of Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Billawar were also present at the camp.
