SAMBA, Mar 1: A team of Mansar Police headed by SI Ashish Sagar, incharge Police Post Mansar under the supervision of SHO P S Samba, Inspector Sanjeev Chib and Dy SP Headquarter Samba, Virender Singh has arrested three thieves for stealing High Tension wire (132 kv) from the forest area of Jamoura Mansar.
The police caught them red handed while stealing the wire. The thieves were identified as Mohammed Jameel S/o Mohammed Hanief of Garnai Tikri, Udhampur, at present Chadawa Mansar, Mohammed Maqbool S/o Ali Asgar of Nagrota of Panjgarain tehsil Ramnagar, district Udhampur and Mohammed Sabir, S/o Daud of Ramgarh of tehsil Baggar, district Doda presently putting up at Chadawa Mansar.
The trio was nabbed on a tip off received by the Police. A truck bearing Registration No JK02Q/9435 parked on the road side by the accused for transportation of stolen wire and 1200 meters of aluminum weighing 100 kgs approximately along with cutters and blades has been seized by the police. This wire was cut into pieces so that it can be easily loaded in the truck.
The Samba Police has registered a case FIR No 40/2016 US 379 RPC and initiated investigation.
Meanwhile, Samba police has arrested a thief involved in a theft case within 24 hours of theft and recovered stolen items including cash from him.
Samba Police headed by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO P/S Samba under the supervision of Varinder Singh, DySP HQ Samba, apprehended a thief namely Jagdeep S/o Jog Raj R/o Samba and solved the theft case within 24 hours which was registered at Police Station Samba under FIR No. 41/2016 u/s 457/380 RPC and during their sustained interrogation and on his disclosure police recovered stolen property i.e. Rs 11,185/- in cash and 4 Mobile Phones, which he had stolen by breaking the Karyana shop at Samba.
