UDHAMPUR, Mar 1: A poor class 8th students of  Government Middle School, Upper Galiote in Panchari area is unable to get  his grievous injury medically treated because of  the local Medical Sub-Centre lying closed for the last more than 2 months.
Surjit Singh, son of Hoshiar Singh, had accidentally received sharp edged axe injury but because of closure of the continuous closure of the Galiote Medical Sub-Centre and extremely remote location of his, he couldn’t get timely first aid stitches, bandage, tetanus injection etc. While bleeding continued profusely, it took two days to shift him to DH Udhampur where he was admitted and applied as many as 31 stitches and bandage.
Family members first shifted him to roadside by palanquine (‘palki’) and thereafter hired a private vehicle upto Udhampur for getting the first aid.
Even as the boy has been now discharged from the District Hospital and reached home,   he is unable to get his bandage changed and stitches removed since the Galiote Sub-Centre is still lying closed.
House of this boy at Kadountha Galiote, which is located about 50 km away from roadside and it takes not less than 8 hours on foot to shift him from his home to Panchari.
Locals alleged that during the whole year of 2015, Galiote Medical Sub Centre remained opened hardly for two months and has been continuously lying closed since December 2015.
