RAJOURI, Mar 1: A minor boy was crushed to death by a speeding car in Manjakote area of district Rajouri this afternoon.
A police spokesman said that incident took place when 7-year-old Mubassar Ahmed , son of Tanveer Ahmed, resident of Gambhir Muglan village was moving along the road side. He was studying in a local Madarasa in Manjakote area.
The boy was going home around 2.40 pm today when a speeding new, without number Alto car hit him. He was ran over by the car. The locals of the area rushed towards the accident spot. The driver left the car behind and escaped from the spot.
The locals of the area gathered there. Madarasa staff also reached there. They informed police which also rushed to the accident spot. The boy in critical condition was rushed to District hospital Rajouri, where doctors declared him as brought dead. His body was shifted to mortuary. Manjakote police registered a case and started manhunt for the car driver. The police is said to have identified the owner of the car.
