CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Government tonight decided to release all the seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination case.
In a letter to Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi seeking the Centre’s view in this regard as per the Supreme Court order, State Chief Secretary K Gnanadesikan said the State Government has decided to remit the sentences of life imprisonment of the seven convicts and release them, since they have already served imprisonment for 24 years.
