KP Sabha celebrates Hurrah Ashtami

JAMMU, Mar 2: Hurrah Ashtami was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at KP Sabha Ambphalla today. A large number of devotees drawn from different parts of Jammu participated in the function which was chaired by KP Sabha chief K K Khosa.
The speakers threw light on the festival falling five days prior to Maha Shivratri and highlighted its religious significance. They said prior to mass exodus of Pandits from Valley in 1989-90 the festival was celebrated with traditional fervor and gaiety at Chakreshwar temple Hari Parbhat by the community here a night long function was held.
However in Jammu the function is being held by Sabha since its inception. The Bhajan Kirtan was also held by the devotees who were later served prashad.
