SVC disposes of 220 cases during Jan-Feb 2016

JAMMU, Mar 3:  Since its inception, the State Vigilance Commission has received 3530 complaints including 290 cases received from the State Accountability Commission, out of which 3153 complaints/cases have been disposed of and 377 (including 12 cases of SAC) are at various stages of disposal.
During the months of January and February, 2016, the SVC has received 177 complaints (including 4 cases received from SAC) and has decided 220 complaints on merits which include disposal of some earlier complaints. Out of the 220 disposed of complaints, 134 were dismissed in limine, 51 were dismissed after enquiry, 24 were sent for administrative action to different departments against involved officers/officials, preliminary enquiry has been ordered in 3 cases, FIR registration has been ordered in 4 cases and 4 cases sent to Police for action.
The State Vigilance Commission was constituted with the aim and objective of enquiring complaints of corruption besides facilitating transparency and integrity in the functioning of the State Administration.
