BJP, PDP let down State’s people: Bhalla

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU,Mar 3: Expressing concern over the present political crisis and chaotic situation in the absence of an elected Government in the State, former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla has said both BJP and PDP have betrayed people by disrespecting their respective mandates.
Addressing party workers during a corner meeting in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Mr Bhalla alleged that BJP and PDP are responsible for present crisis. He said that the present stalemate is an attempt by PDP and  BJP to hoodwink the people. Both coalition partners have let down the people with the sole aim to serve their political ends.  The people in all the three regions are facing difficult situation.
Mr Bhalla lamented the fact that people of J&K State are the worst hit in absence of an elected Government, for the fact, there is no one who can listen and address the issues concerning people in a best possible manner, he said.
Referring to the shortage of basic amenities, former minister expressed his serious concern over the erratic supply of electricity and non- availability of ration to the public. He urged the administration to take measures for mitigating the sufferings of people, on war footing. He said that the people of the State should not suffer due to the wrong policies of BJP and PDP.
Mr Bhalla asked PDP leadership not to play politics over the Government formation with the BJP and instead clear its stand once for all. “PDP leadership claims that ‘Agenda of Alliance’ reached with BJP last year is sacred. If it was sacred, was it without Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) which PDP president Mehbooba Mufti and others speak now,” Bhalla maintained.
Stating that situation on the ground was turning worrisome every day due to the stalemate and PDP’s indecision he said, “Mehbooba Mufti should either say ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the Government formation so that the uncertainty could end. People are suffering immensely due to the present stalemate and last year also PDP kept people waiting for more than two months,” he added.
