21 bovines rescued, one arrested

RAMBAN, Mar 4: Police rescued 21 bovine animals and arrested a person from Gool-Ramban link road, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramban police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramban police station laid a naka on Gool-Ramban link road and intercepted two Tata Mahindra vehicles bearing registration numbers JK19-1846 and JK19-1611.
During checking, police rescued 21 bovine animals and arrested one driver, while another driver escaped from the spot.
The arrested driver has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq, son of Abdul Rashid, a resident of Kanga, district Ramban
The accused were trying to smuggle bovine animals from Gool to Kashmir, but their bid was foiled by the police.
A case under FIR Number 39/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Pardeep Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
