One killed, six injured in road mishaps

JAMMU, Mar 5: A person was killed while six others were injured today in three separate road accidents in Jammu district.
According to a police spokesperson, an elderly lady identified as Amro Devi (50) wife of Om Parkash, a resident of RS Pura, was hit and seriously injured by a mini-bus when she was crossing the road at Last Morh, Gandhi Nagar, early this morning.
The blood ridden lady was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where doctors declared her as brought dead. After completing all medico-legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Gandhi Nagar investigations were underway.
Meanwhile, another pedestrian identified as Anju jan (35) wife of Satpal, a resident of Lakkar Mandi, got injured when a rashly driven mini-bus hit her at Tali Morh. The injured woman was shifted to GMCH for treatment. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
In Palwan Sohal area of Akhnoor tehsil, two bikes bearing registration numbers JK02AB-0284 and JK02BE-6390 collided head on tonight resulting into injuries to five persons including riders of the bikes. The injured were identified as Romesh Lal son of Charan Dass of Sohal, Sanjay Kumar, son of Sarfu Ram of Jadh, Tarsem Lal son of Kaka Ram of Bassera (Panjgrian), Kamla Devi wife of Krishan lal of Gurha Jagir and Bindu son of Oma Praakash of Sohal. They were shifted to Sub-District Hospital, Akhnoor for treatment. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
