Srinagar, Mar 5:  Army today continued search operation near the Line of Control (LoC) in North Kashmir’s Keran sector where they foiled a major infiltration bid two days ago.
On Thursday, Army had foiled a major infiltration bid in North Kashmir’s Keran sector on the LoC and killed one militant while two Army personnel were injured.
Army noticed movement of 6-7 militants near the LoC at Rawtha Naad Domari in Keran sector. These militants had come inside the LoC and their movement was noticed by the Army men posted on the forward posts in the sector.
The infiltrators were challenged by the troops deployed in the counter-infiltration grid. The militants fled back to PoK. However, two of them were killed as army saw the retreating militants dragging two bodies.
Army launched searches in the area near the LoC and saw one of the bodies lying near the LoC. As the Army went to recover the body, militants hiding in the bushes fired upon them injuring two Army men.
The terrain in the area where the infiltration bid was foiled is rugged and Army has continued its operation in the area on the other side of the LoC fence. However, after the recovery of the body nothing was found.
Sources said that Army would continue its search in the area to make sure that no infiltrators have managed to enter into Indian territory.
