RAJOURI, Mar 8: The district body of Retired Police Personnel Forum (RPPF) today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president, Om Parkash Sharma, to highlight their demands.
The meeting, which was attended by a large number of retired police personnel, raised the demand of one rank one pension for the retired police personnel on the lines of Army. Besides, the speakers demanded the release of two DA installments due since July 1, 2015 and January 1, 2016, respectively.
The other demands highlighted by the Forum were enhancement of medical allowance from Rs 300 to 1000 per month, financial assistance to the tune of Rs 50, 000 from the Police Welfare Fund in favour of retired police personnel at the time of marriages of their daughters and sanction of an amount of Rs 50,000 to the next of kin of the retired police personnel at the time of his death for performing last rites.
Moreover, the Forum stressed upon the Government to give 15% reservation quota in the police recruitment to the wards of police personnel.
