JKGBYD seeks justice for victims of Sarore incident, threatens agitation

JAMMU, Mar 8: J&K Gujjar Bakkarwal Youth Desh (JKGBYD) has threatened the State administration of starting an agitation from March 20 if the justice is not done to the victims of Sarore incident.
Addressing a press conference here today, Ch Nazakat Khatana, State president, JKGBYD, said that about 15 days have passed to the Sarore incident in which a Gujjar youth identified as Mohd Yaqoob was killed in police firing but the authorities at the helm of affairs failed to take any action against the culprits.
Expressing grief over the incident, Ch Khatana said that the inhumane killing of the Gujjar youth in the incident is not bearable and he condemned the incident strongly. He said even after 15 days of the incident, murderers of the youth are wandering fearlessly, as no action was taken against them by the administration.
He appealed the authorities concerned to lodge FIR against SHO Bari Brahamana, Bharat Sharma under Section 302 of IPC failing which, he said an agitation will be launched from March 20 against the administration.
Ch Khatana further appealed the administration to investigate the whole incident to see the reality behind the incident so that about 19 affected families may get justice. He said that these families are nomadic and not landlords; they were living there for last 40 years and they have no involvement in any robbery case in J&K or any other State.
Alleging that since February 22 when the Sarore incident happened, these affected families have been are bound to live under open sky and are suffering lot, he appealed the State as well as district administration to provide immediate relief and compensation to them. He also demanded relief and compensation for the Gujjars and Bakkarwals, who were injured in the incident.
