Army boosts ‘skill development’ of Leh youth

Srinagar, Mar 10: Army today said it, under ‘Operation Sadbhavna’ has given a boost to the skill development for youths of Leh in Ladakh Division.
A defence spokesman said here that under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps, the Army’s Electronics and Mechanical Engineers imparted ‘on job training’ in various technical trades to forty Students of ITI Leh and eleven aspiring local youth for eight  weeks.
“Tuition classes were also given for eight weeks to eighteen deserving students of Government Middle School at Spituk. Training and tuition was imparted in Automobile, Electrician, Computer and Welding trade and Science, Maths and English for school students of classes 6th, 7th and 9th,” he said, adding: “In addition, One Student from Government Polytechnic, Leh and one girl child from local village were sponsored for ensuring their studies and growth.”
The spokesman said the skill development programme under ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ was well received by the youth and shall help them is securing jobs in their respective field.
