JAMMU, Mar 10: An army person was killed, while six others received serious injuries, when the vehicle they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into gorge in Khour area of tehsil Akhnoor.
As per police sources, an army vehicle driven by Sepoy Kapil Patil carrying 6 jawans was on way to forward post from Battal Jogwan.
The driver failed to negotiate sharp curve and the vehicle plunged into gorge, causing injuries to seven persons including driver.
Army authorities airlifted the injured jawans to Army Hospital Udhampur, where during treatment Havaldar K Narayanan Swami failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
Khour police has taken cognizance in this regard.
