Online registration for Indo-Pak match ticket at Eden Gardens begins

KOLKATA: As Pakistan cricket team took flight on way to Kolkata to play the ICC World Twenty20, the Board of Control forCricket in India (BCCI) today confirmed that the online process toregister for the lottery system for India-Pakistan men’s match started at 1200 hrs for a 48-hour window.
A Karachi report said a 27-member Pakistan cricket contingent, 15 players headed by captain Shahid Afridi and 12 officials and support staff left for India to take part in the T20, ending days of suspense over their participation in the tournament.
The team will be reaching Kolkata via Abu Dhabi. The Pak squad headed by chief coach Waqar Younis left for India after the Pakistan authorities gave a nod to PCB to fly to India following assurances from the Indian government about adequate security.
The Pak squad is expected in the city late this evening. The high octane India-Pakistan Group league match on March 19 has been shifted to Kolkata from Dharamshala after the Himachal Pradesh government failed to assure adequate security for the match.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee assured fool-proof security to the visitors. The BCCI in a statement said the fans in India and abroad can register by completing an online registration form which is available on the website.
