667 cases settled, Rs 1.27 cr recovered

JAMMU, Mar 12:  Around 667 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs 1.27 crore recovered in the National Lok Adalats for civil and revenue matters convened across the State today.
According to a statement issued by, RN Wattal, District and Sessions Judge who is also the Member Secretary of J&K State Legal Services Authority, the Lok Adalats were convened at High Court, District and Tehsil level under the patronage of Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, Chief Justice of J&K High Court and Patron-in-Chief J&K State Legal Services Authority and under the guidance of Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Judge, J&K High Court of J&K and Executive Chairman, J&K State Legal Services Authority.
DODA: A National Lok Adalat was held today at Court complex in which 26 cases were taken up and 21 were amicably disposed off on the spot.
A bench comprising of CJM, OP Thakur and Tehsildar Doda Nasir Ali conducted the hearings of the cases relating to various sections of CrPC and Pre-Litigation of payment and an award of Rs 1, 15,155 was passed in the favour of parties.
RAMNAGAR: A National Lok Adalat was organised at court complex by the Tehsil Legal Services Committee (TLSC) under the chairmanship of Sub Judge, Renu Dogra who is also the Chairperson of the Committee. About 12 cases were taken up in the Adalat, out of which 8 cases of civil and revenue natures were settled on the spot.
REASI: District Legal Services Authority Reasi under the chairmanship of KS Parihar, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Chairman  District legal service Authority,  Reasi  organized National Lok Adalat, in which 117 cases were taken up and 38 cases were settled.
KATHUA: A National Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex under the Chairmanship of Principal District and Sessions Judge Sanjay Dhar. A total of 16 cases were disposed off and a compensation of Rs 4,23,000 was awarded in favour of victims
UDHAMPUR: A National Lok Adalat was held in the court complex under the chairmanship of District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge Udhampur. Four benches were constituted on the occasion, wherein 54 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 61,37,862 was settled.
RAJOURI: A National Lok Adalat was held in the court complex under the chairmanship of District Legal Services Authority, Principal, District and Sessions Judge Inder Singh. Two benches were constituted on the occasion. 22 cases were disposed off and an amount of Rs 3400 was settled.
NOWSHERA: National Lok Adalat was held in the court complex under the chairmanship of Sandeep Kour, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Services Committee. A total of 9 cases were taken up, out of which 4 cases were settled.
SRINAGAR: The Lok Adalat was held at District Court Complex, Bemina under the chairmanship of Principal District and Session Judge, Rashid Ali Dar during which 167 cases of civil and revenue were taken up for the hearing and 111 cases were settled.
BUDGAM: The National Lok Adalat was chaired by Principal District Session Judge Mohammad Yousf Wani who is also chairman District Legal Services Authority. During day long Lok Adalat as many as 175 cases were put up for hearing.
BANDIPORA: National Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of Chairman DLSA, Mohammad Ashraf Malik in which, 24 cases related to civil and revenue matters were taken up out of which five cases were settled amicably. A settlement amount of Rs 37,000 was also awarded under various cases.
PULWAMA: The National Lok Adalat was held under the chairmanship of Principal District and Session Judge, Aijaz Ahmad Mir. Additional Secession Judge, VK Bahu, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Abdul Majied Dar was also present during the Lok Adalat in which 225 cases of different nature were taken up and 101 cases were disposed off.
BARAMULLA: The National Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of Principal District and Session Judge, Syed Tauqeer during which 249 cases were taken up for hearing and most of the cases were disposed off.
