JAMMU, Mar 12: A brick kiln labourer raped a married woman in Jinder Melu area, falling under the jurisdiction of RS Pura police station.
As per police sources, a lady lodged a compliant with police station RS Pura stating that a brick kiln labourer identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Jindu Ram, a resident of Rambagh, Phlain Mandial barged into her parental house at Jinder Melu and raped her.
The accused threatened the woman of dire consequences if she revealed the ordeal to anyone.
Fearing social stigma, the lady did not told the matter to anyone, but when she came to know that she is pregnant, she reported the matter to family members and lodged complaint with police station RS Pura.
Acting over the complaint, a case under Section 376 RPC has been registered at RS Pura police station and after conducting medical examination, the woman was restored to family members.
Manhunt has been launched by the police to nab the accused.
