RAMBAN, Mar 12: Two persons were arrested for smuggling 13 bovine animals to Valley at Jawahar Tunnel.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jawahar Tunnel police post laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02AD- 1279.
During checking, police rescued 13 bovine animals and arrested the driver and his associate.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Tahir, son of Mohammad Ayoub Mir of Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri and Mohammad Boshu, son of Alif Din Gujjar of Khanikot, Tehsil Arnas, District Reasi.
A case has been registered at police station Banihal and investigation started.
Police team headed by Incharge Jawahar Tunnel police post SI Mohammad Irfan Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Nazir Ahmed Dar, SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
