BJP, others demand immediate supply of ration to migrants

JAMMU, Mar 12: BJP Displaced District general secretary, Virender Kuchroo has expressed serious concern over the problems faced by migrant relief holders due to shortage of ration.
In a statement issued here today Kuchroo demanded immediate supply of ration. He also made an appeal to Union Government to issue necessary instructions to State Government to provide ration to migrants on old scale. He demanded that some volunteers of the community be involved in bifurcation of ration cards as the Relief Department officials are unnecessarily harassing the genuine people applying for the same, implementation of PM’s employment package and one -time assistance to traders and over aged youth were other demands highlighted by him.
Meanwhile, Jagti Welfare Committee led by Vijay Kaul and A K Sadhu and relief holders representative Sunil Pandita have warned agitation from Tuesday if ration was not distributed by CAPD on the basis of old scale.
They said that many relief holders are at the verge of starvation due to denial of two months ration to them.
Expressing his concern over denial of ration to migrants ASKPC leader and social activist Bharat Bushan Gosani blamed the CAPD for the problem. He said the organisation even violated the orders of previous coalition in this regard. He said the migrants be provided ration as per old scale as the same is debited to security related expenses.
