KISHTWAR, Mar 13: One person was killed and two others were injured when the car they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge near Machipal Dunadi on Thathri-Kilhotran road, falling under the jurisdiction of Kishtwar police station.
The ill-fated Eco car bearing registration number JK06-8762 was on its way from Thathri to Kahara, when driver of the car lost control over the vehicle due to slippery conditions and it fell into the gorge near Machipal Dunadi on Thathri-Kilhotran road.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the three injured persons to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) Thathri, where doctors declared one of them as brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Bagh Hussain, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, a resident of Zaba Kahara, whereas the two seriously injured have been identified as Sajjad Hussain, son of Mohammad Amin Khan and Rashid Ahmed, son of Mohammad Shafi, both residents of Kahara Gandoh, district Doda.
The body has been handed over to family members for performing the last rites.
A case has been registered at Kishtwar police station and investigation started.
