POONCH, Mar 15: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Mohammad Harun inaugurated five-day State Level National Integration Camp, being organized by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports through Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan at College of Education, here.
Inaugurating the camp, Deputy Commissioner said the main aim of the camp is to help the students develop a sense of national integration. “From up North to down South and from far East to the West, we see different languages, different food habits, diverse cultures and geography. In spite of these varied diversities, the country’s national integrity has remained intact”, he said, adding that in the backdrop of today’s scenario where pluralistic foundations are under threat, it is the duty of the students to protect the spirit of national integrity.
“Only educated youth can protect the pluralistic values of our land,” he said while calling upon the students to develop their personality by imbibing good values taught at the camp.
More than 250 students from 15 States are taking part in the camp in which various cultural programmes portraying local culture will be presented.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), JS Johar, Zonal Director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan J&K, Sukhdev Singh besides officers, prominent citizens and students were present on the occasion.
