JAMMU, Mar 15: Bahujan Samaj Party today celebrated the birth anniversary of Kanshi Ram with great pomp and show at Kunjwani Ground here.
Tarsem Lal Khullar, State president, BSP, was the chief guest on the occasion while the function was presided over by Som Nath Majotra, vice president.
The function started with lighting of traditional lamp in front of portrait of Kanshi Ram. This was followed by traditional songs sung by the missionary activists. Renowned singers such as Sonu Heer and his party and senior leader BD Thappa also thrilled audience with their missionary songs.
While speaking on the occasion, Khullar threw light on the life and mission of Kanshi Ram, who was born in 1934 in a poor family and rose to the height of Messiah of downtrodden people.
In the last, Khullar asked the party activists to follow the footsteps of Kanshi Ram.
