JAMMU, Mar 15: In protest against the failure of the Government to solve their burning demands today a massive demonstration was held at village Nagrota in Block Purmandal of Samba district. The protestors included men, women and children were shouting slogans in support of their demands.
The protest was held under the leadership of Sr. Congress leader Arun Sharma. The protestors were demanding immediate settlement of their burning problems including drinking water scarcity. They  accused the PHE Department for its failure to restore the water supply pipe lines for last two years when the tubewell has been constructed and pipes are also available with the department.
People were also demanding opening of Ration Depot at village Nagrota for the facility of the public. Gayatri Devi, Samitri Devi, Shanti Devi, Neha Sharma, Krishna Devi,  Ram Pal, Girdhari Lal, Ghanshyam, Ram Murti, Chanchala Devi and Varun Kumar  were amongst the prominent people of the village among protesters.
Later the DC Samba issued directives to the concerned authorities to visit the area and following here directives, Executive Engineer, PHE Samba and Assistant. Director CAPD assured that the problems shall be addressed within 15 days.
