JAMMU, Mar 15: A 2-day training programme on OMMAS 2.0 was inaugurated by Chief Engineer PMGSY, A. H. Sheikh here today.
The training programme is being held under the aegis of NRRDA and National Council for Training & Social Research, New Delhi.
The Chief Engineer in his address laid stress on adoption of modern technology and innovations while implementing of PMGSY in the State. He encouraged the young engineers to stay abreast with the latest technology like the OMMAS and other research inputs, which he said, not only ensure accuracy but also transparency in the system.
M Srinivas Rao, Senior Technical Officer, CDAC, Pune, and an authority on OMMAS is the resource person during the training. As many as 42 participants from 18 PIUs of PMGSY Jammu are participating in the training.
The NCTSR team headed by  Anil Aggarwal, Addl Director including Abdul Rehman, Asstt Manager & Nidhi Nama, Event Manager is managing the event.
The OMMAS- Online Management Monitoring and Accounting System is an online platform on which all the activities of PMGSY are uploaded. The OMMAS has a citizen module where anyone can access information on PMGSY and it is worthwhile to mention that PMGSY is shortly going to implement e-payment programme which completely dispenses with the cheque system of making payments.
