Srinagar, Mar 16: Scores of people today staged a protest against Education Department in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district against non-availability of teachers in a middle school.
The protesters hailing from Hapatnar area of the district assembled outside the office of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and raised slogans against the Education Department.
The protesters said that there is only teacher for 120 students in Government Middle School Hapatnar and accused the concerned department of playing with the career of students.
“How can one teacher teach more than hundred students? Teachers are reluctant to teach in far-flung areas like ours. We want high-level intervention into the matter,” said the protesters.  The protesters however later dispersed off peacefully.
