JAMMU, Mar 17: The deputation of PHE Workers Welfare Association, (PHEWWA) Jam-mu province under the leadership of Bakshi Singh and Subash Verma provincial president and general secretary called on the Commissioner Secretary PWD Department/ in charge PHE Irrigation and Flood Control Department today.
The association apprised the Commissioner about the discriminatory attitude of State Government as well as the PHE higher authorities Jammu adopted towards the CP, need base and casual workers of the department who are being paid partially only 5 months wages in a year and where as the ITI and need base workers who had come in the department 10 years later to the earlier are being paid wages month wise. They further requested the Commissioner secretary to provide equal wages to the all sorts of PHE workers and remove the discrimination among them.
The association further stressed for taking immediate measures for the regularisation of all the workers in time bond manners so that the workers who have given more than 20 years to the department be given justice.
The issue of clearing of pending wages of the workers was also brought into the notice of the Commissioner secretary who listened the demands and the burning problems of the workers patiently and assured that their demands will be taken up with the higher authority for redressal shortly.
