MLC’s plea to Governor

DODA, Mar 19:   Senior Congress leader  and MLC from Bhadarwah Naresh Kumar Gupta  in an appeal to the Governor  NN Vohra has sought his  indulgence towards the important issues of  Bhadarwah.
Mr Gupta urged that construction of  faculty blocks of University Campus Bhadarwah  were handed over to the Police Housing Corporation. The construction has been completed, the liability on account of  State share has not been released so for by the State Govt  amounting to Rs 3 crore.  The Police Housing Corporation is pressing hard for the balance payment, whereas the University of Jammu is asking for the payments out of local funds raised out of fee. The Higher Education Department  and the University Jammu too, despite having knowledge have not yet released the amount for unknown reasons.
The MLC also apprised the Governor of the much delay in  the construction of District Jail and District Court Complex  Bhadarwah. Land has since been acquired for both the projects , compansation has been paid, compound walls have been raised but slow pace of construction has delayed the projects. In absence of the District Jail, public especially under- trials and accused are facing multiple problems.
They are being produced before the various courts of  erstwhile Doda district either from Jammu, Udhampur,  which consumes much time, pose risk and huge burden on the State exchequer by way of transport and man  power etc. He said the  Governor should intervene into the matter.
Naresh Gupta applauded the role being played by  the Governor and the Advisors in  addressing the vital issues with in   short period with the  hope that at this crucial juncture when the Houses are in animation,   public genuine demands shall get due priority and consideration.
