JAMMU, Mar 19: Core Committee of All J&K Agriculture Officers Welfare Forum (AJKAOWF) in a meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of its president Vijay Kumar Upadhaya has expressed concern over the misrepresentation of facts by the so called `Gazetted officers of Agriculture Production Department to the Governor of the State’.
AJKAOWF welcomed the DPC process set in motion by the Administrative Department after three decades, rekindling hope in dejected / demoralized cadre of the Department, who not seen even one promotion in their service career. The meeting said that the vested interests inimical to the welfare of agriculture fraternity are out to sabotage the process of streamlining the seniority/ DPC by taking recourse to misinformation and now misrepresentation to the office of Governor.  The modus operandi of such people is to anyhow cling to the posts of which they are not eligible, the meeting added.
The meeting while taking strong exception to such reports and statements  said that such people twist the facts so as to maintain status quo and enjoy positions wily -nilly. Now, when it is imminent that consistent efforts of the Forum are succeeding and administration is working to clear the mess, their positions are becoming untenable, it added.
The Forum has appealed the Governor N N Vohra to look into the issuance of DPC of complete cadre and finalizing seniority up to last batch. Time bound promotion pending over decades may also be considered to end stagnation. It said the Department needs revamping, restructuring and human resource management of technical manpower to meet the challenges in light of thrust on agriculture in new budget.
