Fence JDA land to check encroachment: VC

JAMMU, Mar 19: Vice Chairman JDA conducted tour of various areas in Jammu to take stock of the progress of ongoing works of the upcoming housing colonies. He visited the upcoming colonies of Gole Gujral, Kot Bhalwal, and Roop Nagar and also areas of Muthi, Udheywala, Bantalab, Keran Chinnore etc.
He issued directions to Superintending Engineer to expedite the pace of development works in the colonies so as to complete the works within stipulated time. While inspecting the works at Kot Bhalwal Housing Colony where more than 400 plots have been allotted to the people, he directed the officers accompanying him to hand over the possession of the plots to the allottees who have deposited the cost of plots besides in the other colonies at Birpur, Gole Gujral and Roop Nagar.
He also issued directions to the Executive Engineer and engineering staff to fence the land with barbed wire at Udheywala, Rajinder Nagar, Chinnore which are lying vacant so as to prevent the land from encroachment.
The Director Land Management JDA who was also accompanying him was asked to ensure that the enforcement staff remain mobile and vigilant to protect the lands and properties of JDA and to take strict action against the encroachers including registration of FIRs against the encroachers.
While inspecting ongoing works and construction of group housing flats at Muthi, the Executive Engineer was asked to expedite the works, so as to complete the works well in time to avoid any escalation of cost, while maintaining the quality of the works as per standard parameters.
The Vice Chairman JDA further asked the Executive Engineers to make proper plan for plantation of suitable species of plants during the rainy season for adequate green cover in the colonies.
