JAMMU, Mar 19: The workers of Dogra Front under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta, today took out a protest rally in Jammu city against the CAPD department for non-availability of ration.
While speaking on the occasion, Ashok Gupta said that the department of CAPD has been taking such decisions which instead of providing any relief to the poor population, have been creating more problems for the already suffering people.
Gupta stated that CAPD director has been a complete failure at his duties end, adding though since the imposition of Governor rule in the State the funds have been provided to the department at appropriate time, yet people have been facing acute ration shortage.
The Dogra Front president criticized the order of supplying grains instead of wheat as well as reduction of quota of sugar to the people. He said that this order is a burden on poor families who are living from hand to mouth. He further said that the deduction in ration as well as sugar is not acceptable at any cost.
Gupta demanded Governor NN Vohra to keep the implementation of NFSA in abeyance, till the formation of the new Government as there are lot of irregularities and short comings in the Act.
He further demanded for inclusion of edible oil, sugar, salt, pulses, vegetables, LPG and kerosene oil in the NFSA from the State Government side.
In an appeal to Parvez Dewan (Advisor to Governor), Gupta stated that the whole system of distribution of the ration should be improved by giving the distribution work to some private Retail chain instead of individuals.
