NDS organizes Sangeet Sandhya ‘Dr Chanchal Te Unde Geet’

JAMMU, Mar 19: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) today organized a Sangeet Sandhya titled ‘Dr Chanchal Te Unde Geet’ at KL Saigal Hall of Cultural Academy Complex, Jammu.
The Sangeet Sandhya was composed by famous Composer Suraj Singh in which Dr Aziz Hajini, secretary, Cultural Academy, was the chief guest. SK Kapoor, Assistant General Manager, State Bank of India, Jammu, was the guest of honour while OP Sharma, Ex-President, J&K Bank, was the guest of honour. Mohan Singh was the special guest.
SS Anand Lehar, a renowned Urdu Short Story writer, poet, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India and patron, NDS, presided over the function while Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, president, NDS also shared the dais.
Dr Aziz Hajini, while appreciating the songs of the poetess said she is a renowned light and folk singer in the field of music and has been performing since 1991 in Radio Kashmir Jammu. SK Kapoor also shared his experiences with the audience.
The special invitee, Prof Anupama Sharma, while speaking on the occasion said that besides being a singer, drama artist and a TV announcer, Dr Chanchal is a good poetess having 3 books published in her credit.
Dr Arvinder Singh Amn commended the role of Nami Dogri Sanstha for the upliftment of Art, Culture and Languages. SS Anand Lehar said that Art and Culture are our rich heritage and writers, singers and artists play an important role in social progress.
The programme was compeered by Yash Pal ‘Yash’ while Som Raj Taroch presented the vote of thanks. Earlier, Capt Lalit Sharma read welcome address and Sandeep Jamwal read paper on Dr Chanchal Sharma.
The singers who performed on the occasion were Pallvi Koul, Sonav Dubey, Bandana, Sonia, Karuna, Suraj Singh, Manoj Bakshi, and Dr Chanchal Sharma. They were accompanied by Amit Anand on Tabla, Vijay Anand on Dholak, Shivinder Kumar on Guitar, Lucky Sahil on Octopad, Rakesh Anand on Flute and Krishan Kumar Johny on Synth.
