Interaction Forum organizes interactive session

RAJOURI, Mar 21: Carrying forward its campaign of building broader unity of the people of Jammu Province, the Interaction Forum-Jammu Province held its second interactive session, here today.
A presidium comprising Harbans Lal, District & Sessions Judge (Retd);  KB Jandial (IAS Retd), Advocate H C Jalmeria, B S Jamwal (Retd DC), Capt  Lalit Sharma, Prof  Waqar and  Trade union leader  Subhash Shastri  presided over the session. Advocate Zahid Malik conducted the proceedings.
Ashok Sharma, former legislature, introduced the subject and highlighted the specific issues of Rajouri-Poonch districts. Closure of coal mines and Thermal power project have badly affected the fragile economy of this area and subjected the workers to unemployment, he said and added that connecting the area with Railway can stimulate many development projects and create large scale employment for the people.
K B Jandial highlighted the need of development of tourism potential of the Jammu province and stressed the need for taking up specific projects to be completed in time bound manner.
H C Jalmeria said that despite double area and more voters, Jammu Province is given lesser seats in Assembly and Parliament.
Capt Lalit Sharma laid emphasis on bringing on tourist map the beautiful mountains in hilly belts of Jammu Province ranging from Poonch- Rajouri to Doda Bhadarwah Kishtwar Bani.
Choudhary Gulzar stressed for addressing the unemployment problem of youth and expressed the necessity of strong unity of the people of Jammu Province.
Iqbal Shan highlighted the neglect of Rajouri Poonch areas by successive Govts while Sajad Tariq said that the Govts have been unable to meet developmental needs due to inefficiency of administration. Prof Waqar said the Rajouri should be given due attention for development while Khurshid Janam asked for understanding the aspirations of people of Rajouri Poonch.
Others, who spoke, included Advocates Abrar Khan, Wahid Khan, Subhash Shastri, Advocate Rajeshwar, Advocate Abrar Khan, Vikrant Sharma, Sarfraz Malik, Vinod Sharma, Mohd Aslam, Sajjid Mirza, Aizaz Ul Haq, Neelam, Sushil Kumar, Arjun Sharma.
All the participants overwhelmingly emphasized to forge broader unity of people in Jammu Province overcoming caste, religion or territorial diversities.
